Qualifying practice kicked off the 52nd edition of the Trofeo delle Industrie in Lonato. The pole position holders are: Longhi (KZ2), Poujol (MINI Gr.3 U10), Sini (MINI Gr.3), Sala (OKJ), Ferrari (OKN) and Carter (OKNJ).
The 52nd Trofeo delle Industrie at the South Garda Karting in Lonato kicked off with an excellent sporting spectacle, with approximately 320 participants from 47 nations, confirming the international success of the event organized by Parma Motorsport.
The MINI, OKJ, KZ2, OKN, and OKNJ categories, almost all sold out, saw a significant participation of manufacturers and the most qualified teams, with many contenders for the final victory determined to enter the prestigious hall of fame that, since 1971, has included some of the greatest names in motorsport. Among the competitors are many international champions, as well as many young up-and-coming drivers eager to make a good showing.
Meanwhile, on the first official day, Friday, qualifying practice sessions and the first heats were held. Further heats and second chance races are scheduled for Saturday, while Sunday, October 27th, will see the conclusion with the second chance races, followed by the Prefinals and Finals, which will be live-streamed on the website https://www.trofeodelleindustrie.it/.
KZ2 – Longhi a great duel with Bertuca.
In the first of the two KZ2 practice sessions, the Frenchman Corentin Rousseau (#140 KCS Racing/BirelART-TM Kart-Vega) secured the fastest lap in 46.264s, ahead of Simone Bianco (#139 Kalì Kart Racing/Kalì Kart-TM Kart-TM Kart) by 0.204s and Estonian Markus Kajak (#132 Maranello SRP/Maranello-TM Kart) by 0.286s. However, Riccardo Longhi (#152 KCS Racing/BirelART-TM Kart) set the overall best time in the second session with a lap complete in 46.059 seconds, after a great duel with the new KZ2 World Champion Cristian Bertuca (#101 Bertuca/BirelART-TM Kart), who clocked the second fastest time at 22 thousandths of a second. The Swiss driver Ethan Frigomosca (#123 Renda Motorsport/Sodi-TM Kart) obtained the third fastest time at 0.159s.
MINI Gr.3 Under 10 – Poujol on top by a small margin.
A light rain caused some additional difficulties in the MINI Gr.3 Under 10 category and all subsequent sessions. The fastest lap was set by the Frenchman Jean Poujol (#624 Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex-MG) in the second session with a time of 1:08.785s. HE was ahead of his teammates, the German Tiberius Mueller by 0.025s, and Henri Moehring by 0.212s. In the first session, the fastest time was posted by the German Devin Titz (#656 CRG Holland/TGroup-TM Kart) in 1:10.961s, with the Swedish driver Kjell Hjertman (#640 Ward Racing/Tony Kart-TM Kart) 0.038s behind, and Antonio Ianni (#619 CRG Racing Team/TGroup-TM Kart) at 0.133s.
MINI Gr.3 – Sini and Rea are the fastest.
The Indonesian driver Oliver Sini (#536 Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex-MG) secured the fastest overall time in the first session with a time of 1:09.577s. The Danish driver Matteis Stigsen (#523 CRG Racing Team/TGroup-TM Kart) claimed second at 0.136s and was followed by the Spaniard Daniel Miron Lorente (#515 Team Driver/KR-Iame) in third at 0.298 seconds. In the second session, Achille Rea (#551 CRG Racing Team/TGroup-TM Kart) was the fastest with a time of 1:10.179s, ahead of the Polish driver Blazej Kostrzewa (#517 SpinoProject/Energy Corse-TM Kart) by 0.364s and Swedish driver Gustav Christernsen (#522 CRG Holland/TGroup-TM Kart) by 0.882s.
OKJ – Sala is on top.
Filippo Sala (#304 Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Kart-Vega) claimed pole position with the fastest time in the second qualifying session, clocking a 1:02.306s. Meanwhile, his teammate, the German driver Luke Kornder, secured the top spot in the first qualifying session with a time of 1:04.134s. In the second session, Sala finished ahead of Ilia Berezkin (#331 Monster K Factory/CRG-TM Kart) by 0.079s and his other teammate, the Monegasque driver Andrea Manni, by 0.456s. In the first session, behind Kornder, the Polish driver Kacper Rajpold (#332 Koski Motorsport/Tony Kart-TM Kart) finished second, 0.098s behind, followed by the Australian driver William Calleja (#341 Ricky Flynn Motorsport/LN-TM Kart) who was 0.103s off the pace.
OKN – Ferrari and Carenini display a great shape.
Riccardo Ferrari (#406 M2 Racing/Gillard-TM Kart-MG) immediately proved to be very competitive, securing the absolute pole position in the second series with a time of 59.179s, ahead of the Uruguayan Matilde Itzcovich (#404 Magik/Tony Kart-TM Kart) by 0.251s and the Mexican Sebastian Frigolet (#415 Team Driver/KR-Iame) by 0.407s. In the first series, Danny Carenini (#440 Zanchi Motorsport/Tony Kart-TM Kart) delivered a great performance, achieving the fastest time of 1:01.570s, ahead of the Slovenian Alekandar Bogunovic (#427 Emilia Kart/BirelART-Iame) by 0.415s and Andrea Volpato (#408 M2 Racing/Gillard-TM Kart) by 0.602s.
OKNJ – Carter pips Pilipenko by 0.014s.
In the single OK-N Junior series, the fastest driver was the Englishman Henry Carter (#203 Gold Kart/Righetti Ridolfi-TM Kart-MG), who had a narrow margin of just 14 thousandths of a second over Mark Pilipenko (#223 Fusion Motorsport/KR-Iame). Slightly further back were the German Sebastian Riedel (#211 Team Driver/KR-Iame) at 0.320s, Fabio Ferlicca (MLG Racing/Parolin-TM Kart) at 0.363s, Michele Orlando (#213 DR/DR-Modena Engines) at 0.426s, and the American Nicola Stanley (#218 Gamoto/Tony Kart-TM kart) just one thousandth of a second behind Orlando.
